What is?
Kinesiology (from the Greek kinesis – movement + logos – knowledge), known as the science of movement, is the field of science that studies the body’s movement from the physiological, bio-mechanical and psychological points of view in terms of function, behavior and language.
Advanced Kinesiology, here used, derives from Applied Kinesiology and, as such, is a method in natural medicine that applies Kinesiology at a medicinal level, either by the integration of additional knowledge, or by the use of muscle testing as the main instrument to access brain information.
This way, it is a method that studies the relationships of movement, with the structure, constitution, functioning, and the natural intelligence of the body, and the person’s life experience, for the evaluation and treatment of health imbalances at physico-structural, psycho-emotional, bioenergetic and biochemical levels.
It has an holistic approach and it aims to restore the natural potential for action and self-healing in each person, so as to restore their natural health or vitality.
Having special attention to the causes besides the symptoms, it acts on a truly profound and multidimensional level.
Applies knowledge of physiology, anatomy, biomechanics, neurology, psychology, bioenergy, nutrition, massage and acupressure.
Developed in the 1960s by a team of 12 specialist scientists in chiropractic, osteopathy, neurology, medicine, biochemistry, acupuncture, homeopathy and massage, it brings together knowledge and techniques of Western Medicine and Eastern Medicine – such as Traditional Chinese Medicine, Ayurvedic Medicine and Tibetan Medicine). Its results are proven in several countries in America, Australia and Europe.

Foundation
At its basis is the understanding that man is a whole composed of several parts in continuous and dynamic interdependence, and as such, inseparable in the approach.
It considers the person’s life experience aspects, as well as all parts of his body, including its subtler parts (such as cells, atoms, intelligence and their inter-dynamics, movement or muscle expression, and postural information), and simultaneously comprises the healing potential and self-regenerative drive of the human body.
The body seen as a kind of intelligent machine or biocomputer, endowed with memory (cellular), energy (vital), and language (body). A language that, as Dr. Goodheart (chiropractor and precursor of Applied and Advanced Kinesiology) has discovered, is composed of active and intelligent reflexes of movement. Reflexes that, through Kinesiology, through muscular tests, leads us to answers that give us information about our state of health, as well as, through the appropriate external stimuli, reestablish the natural body flow.
It is the flows of information and energy that exist in the body that maintains its proper balance and functioning. If there are blockages in these flows, diseases, tension, discouragement or any other type of imbalance or malaise arise.
With Advanced Kinesiology such disturbances are investigated and treated.
.
.
How?
During the process, through a muscular test, the body is questioned and, by reflex, responds, identifying the respective imbalances and the most appropriate treatment techniques for its recovery (touch, movement, word, sound, color). It may include therapeutic movement methodologies, acupressure and massage techniques, stimulation of energy meridians, techniques of psychotherapy, nutritional analysis. In this sequence, the various mechanisms of the body are activated at muscular, circulatory, immunological, articular, nervous, cerebral, energetic levels.

.
Indications
It is especially useful in situations of pain, tension, difficulties of concentration, memorization or learning, cases of incoordination, demotivation and fatigue, general or partial devitalization.
Everyone can use this method, which is adapted to the particular need of each person.
It can be an excellent complement to other ongoing treatments.

Benefits
Through Kinesiology it is possible to:
– improve posture, balance and motor coordination;
– help with dyslexia and improve spatial orientation;
– help with muscle and joint pains, and understand its origin and meaning;
– improve muscle flexibility and tonicity;
– unlock nerve tensions, muscle and vertebral contractures;
– release emotional and mental stress;
– inform about the most adequate nutrition;
– increase energy, attention and motivation;
– improve concentration, memory and learning;
– improve our ability to achieve objectives increasing confidence and self-esteem;
– regulate the various body systems functionally;
– gain greater body awareness, etc.

Door of Opportunity
We can think of kinesiology as a door of opportunity. A door that can open to a better life, health, strength, vitality, confidence, self-esteem, well-being and better relational capacity. A door to a place from which to deepen the awareness of what blocks us or limits the nature of our body (physically, mentally, emotionally and socially) in its movement and total potential of being.
With kinesiology it is possible to achieve true health, our living and conscious balance. This is an opportunity to grasp the reins of life, gain new breath, enthusiasm, coordination, conviction.
